Going To Court
Be On Time
Most courts take attendance before they open. Try to be on time so that you do not miss anything important. If you have an attorney, say “I am waiting for my attorney” if he or she has not arrived there yet. If your attorney is there already, have your attorney respond. Remember, your attorney is supposed to communicate with the court for you. If you represent yourself, you will have to answer all questions from the court including checking in. When you do not have an attorney, it is very important to be on time. If the court somehow thinks you did not appear on the court date, a warrant can be issued against you. Be on time to minimize all potential problems.
